West Essex Alliance

The West Essex Alliance is a member of the South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP) providing a voice for the West Essex within the South East.

The South East Local Enterprise Partnership was set-up in 2010 in response to government plans to create locally-owned partnerships between local authorities and businesses to play a central role in determining local economic priorities and undertake activities to drive economic growth and the creation of local jobs.

The South East LEP, encompassing East Sussex, Essex, Kent, Medway, Southend and Thurrock is the nation's gateway to the world. Today, the South East LEP is home to 156,000 businesses and 3,938,000 people. Some 1,526,000 work within the South East and now contribute almost six percent of Britain’s GVA.

Recognising that it will be business and entrepreneurs who will create growth, SELEP's mission is to "Create the most enterprising economy in England".
